New to traveling and unsure of where to being your search? Here are my favourite sites when I am planning my next getaway:

RAKUTEN: When looking for flights, groupons, shopping and more I check out sites (Expedia, Hotwire, etc.)through Rakuten where I can earn #cashback on money I am spending anyway. I call that winning! Install the Google Chrome extension for easier use once you’ve created your account so you always know when cash back is available.

AIRBNB: My favourite way to stay is renting an AirBnB  located close to the amenities I will need. It’s a great way to save money, experience living in each city, plus meet some great, open minded people. First time user? Get $45 CAD credit towards your first trip here

UBER: When traveling, especially in big cities throughout North America (think Atlanta, New Jersey, West Palm Beach, Calgary, Toronto, etc.) Uber is my go to for rides around the city. Check it out for yourself and a Free Ride (worth $20)

Travel Gear:

SOUNDS: Noise cancelling headphones are essential if you don’t like the loud airplane noises when trying to watch your movie! A portable speaker is also handy when you just wanna jam out or having a bit of a shindig.

BOOKS: I love my Kobo Libra E-reader. I have a library at my fingertips with many options of books available to read, and if there is nothing of interest at the time I can buy or rent from my local library using Overdrive. The e-reader can be used for audio books, and the account syncs directly to the app that can be used on your phone so you can pick up right where you left off if you are ever in a place without your e-reader. A note: I prefer to read books using the e-reader (and am still a physical book advocate) but tend to listen to audio books on my phone since it doesn't involve the distractions of the screen.
